Holistically Supporting the Breastfeeding Dyad - 9/28/25 & 10/5/25

$248.00

This class is made from the heart and taught by us – Rachel and Krista – two birth and postpartum doulas, International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs), Registered Nurses, and educators. We have a combined 20+ years of experience supporting families through the seasons of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and feel honored every single time.

We’ve learned (and unlearned) so much over the years—as we’ve navigated our way through the medical system, community care, private practice, advocacy work, and our own personal journeys as caregivers. And through it all, one thing has never changed: our desire to keep growing and deepening our understanding.

We vividly remember what it’s like to be a new doula, working with clients for the first time and feeling equal parts excited and passionate, and overwhelmed and intimidated. Working in these spaces is a huge responsibility. If you’ve looked, you already know how tough it is to find lactation education that actually feels aligned with how we want to show up for families. We’ve searched far and wide! Too often, the classes we took felt disconnected, outdated, or just not worth the time and money. So, we decided to create the resource we’d always wished we had.

We’d love for you to join us for a two-part, comprehensive breastfeeding class—a space where science, intuition, and mammalian wisdom come together to keep our fires burning as we support and advocate for our clients. Our hope is that this is more than a class; it’s a chance to build community, share, and learn alongside other doulas who care as deeply as you do.

This class is for you if:

  • You’re a doula! Birth, Postpartum, Full-Spectrum, you name it. If you interact with and support lactating families, this is your class. Seasoned or brand new, come join us.

  • You have a desire to shore up your lactation knowledge so you can better support your clients whether in the home, hospital, or your community.

  • You feel the way the medical system and its policies butt up against intuitive, holistic care (breastfeeding and otherwise) and you seek a different way to support families within (and despite) these bigger systems.

  • You’re craving community and want to connect with other aligned doulas who reject the push for disconnection and disempowerment that families are experiencing even before their baby arrives.

  • You believe that birth matters when it comes to the breastfeeding journey and seek to deepen your understanding of how it is all connected.

Over the course of our two class gatherings we will discuss:

  • How lactation works (anatomy, physiology, hormones)

  • Changing the language we use with families (and why it matters)

  • Prenatal preparation and education

  • Practical skills

  • Helpful tools and when they are appropriate

  • Common interventions that interfere with BF + how to help families navigate these big decisions

  • Advocacy in the birth space (and beyond)

  • The Mother-Baby connection

  • Common pitfalls & challenges

  • When to loop in an IBCLC

After our second meeting you will receive access to an online portal of resources that we reference in class and often pull from as we work with our own clients.

Early bird price: $168 for sign ups before September 7th – regular price $248

Autumn cohort gathers virtually via Zoom on Sunday, September 28th and Sunday, October 5th from 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm PST.
